The One Content Angle Nobody In Your Industry Is Using
I'm at Social Media Marketing World this week and this question just stopped me mid-session: What's something your competitors can't or won't say? Sit with that for a minute. What do you actually believe about your industry that most people in your space won't say out loud? That's your content. Drop yours below — I'd love to see what comes up for you.

LinkedIn, Business Page or Personal Profile?
This question came up in the community yesterday and I thought it deserved its own post. Personal profile or business page on LinkedIn? My original take: if you are a solopreneur and you are the brand, your personal profile is enough. A business page makes more sense when you have a team, want to run ads, or are building something separate from your name. But then @Liisa Reimann dropped this in the comments and it changed my thinking a little. If you have your business or services listed on your personal profile and you do not have a business page claimed, that little logo next to your listing is a generic blue graphic. People click it. And when they do, they land in search results for others doing similar work. Not you. Your competitors. So at minimum, claim your business page. Even if you rarely post on it. It closes that gap and keeps people in your world instead of sending them elsewhere. Next week I'll be attending Michelle Raymond's session on LinkedIn Company Pages That Convert: The 5 Strategies Everyone Else Misses to brush up on my LinkedIn skills. And of course I'll be sharing more here from all my sessions Now I want to hear from you. Do you have a business page set up?

Let's connect on LinkedIn
As today seems to be a LinkedIn heavy day, let's cap it off by sharing your LinkedIn profile below. Connect if you'd like, no pressure to do so. Here's my personal profile. I don't have a business page as I already manage 6 for my clients 😄

@Stacey Watts and others who don't yet have a biz page... A small suggestion, if I may—if you are selling anything (as a coach, creator, consultant, whatever) and you list that on your personal profile, then please DO create a business page for yourself. Even if you rarely post on it. Here's why... that generic blue non-logo graphic next to your work name, it's on EVERYONE else's profile too. Folks are conditioned to click on the graphics next to our listings. When they do, they go straight into search results of others who do similar work - and you may not even appear in that list. (Test it out, click on yours.) So by listing that experience/service and not claiming a business page for yourself, you're actually sending traffic to your competitors. So claim your stake and mark your territory. I wrote a whole post on it here if you're interested!

@Stacey Watts yeah it makes sense. especially with all those scammers who pose as others and other businesses!
I'm packing my bags for Anaheim 🎙️
Next week I'll be at Social Media Marketing World, one of the biggest social media conferences on the planet, and I'm going as your inside source. I'll be sitting in sessions, taking notes, and bringing back the good stuff so you don't have to wade through the highlight reels on LinkedIn. But I want to make sure I'm covering what actually matters to YOU. Drop your vote below and I'll make sure those sessions are on my radar. 👇 What do you want me to dig into most?

there are some great nuggets in there! i was particularly surprised to hear that hashtags have impact, that a post gets half its lifetime impressions in the first 48 hours (😱), and that links in the post don't necessarily limit your reach. Lots to think about!
