Hey All. I am thinking of creating a Rate My Book platform with leaderboards. May take a while to setup but will see how it goes. Would you be interested in sharing a chapter of your book as a preview?

I have (recently) been inundated with requests from 'reading groups' from every corner of the planet, wanting to review my book (at their group meeting). Sounds good? However, suddenly, "we need an admin fee," which ranges from $150 to as much as $250. These scammers will try anything....

I have just received an email alerting me to the fact that I have a PayPal money request for £1,075.00. Needless to say, it is a scam. So, my message this morning is to be very careful, my good friends; some of these lowlifes are stooping to new lows. For transparency and your protection, it came from: "Mary Cris Gonzales Obas sent you a money request." John

Book promotion is the bane of authors. Why it has to be so difficult and waylaid with fraudsters I do not know. But I have aways thought the real answer lies in authors cooperating with each other to create some sort of living, viable, interesting, even compelling community. This needs to be discussed and Lindsay, maybe you could encourage your members to get involved in the discussion in an ongoing way.
