How do you CARE?
We discussed potential bottlenecks every community owner has to face: - C standing for conversion - A standing for ascension - R standing for retention - E standing for engagement No matter what money model you choose to pursue in your community, you have to design your META (most effective tactic available) to CARE the best way you can for your community members. - Conversion starts at your about page. So far what worked for me best is a simple questionnaire you can turn on in your plugins section and ask future members to answer 3 questions of your choice. That allowed me to filter members according to what they want and what I can deliver for them. - Ascension is a bit tougher. That's why my automated DM (you can turn on in your plugins section) triggers an onboarding process that prompts new members to a 30 minute audit call. So far 3 out 7 booked and attended a call, with two follow up sessions coming next. - Retention is where we all need help. During my talk with @Jose Guerra we came to a conclusion that retention is directly connected with engagement. - Engagement is what makes the community work or not. Perhaps the best example is this community lead by @Lukas Schmidt where we constantly look for new or META ways to engage people. This is the problem we want to solve more than any other. What if there would be a way to solve that problem with one click for all our community members? Over the past 20 years of teaching, tutoring and mentoring I can give you all educational creators two key takeaways that will make your and your members life so much easier: 1. PKM (personal knowledge management) is a foundation to any learning process and PKM is not about aggregating, it is about HOW you aggregate. There are many systems to do that. My pick (after trying it all) is zettlekasten with a any backlink supporting app. 2. The way you structure your educational content is essential and brain dumping is definitely not the way to go. Ultimately the more you are organised with your knowledge the better you can deliver it.

How are you using gamification in your community?
This Monday, I joined a call where we talked about how gamers have an advantage in Skool. Skool isn't just a community platform. It is a gamified community platform. That is why it feels like we are playing all day because there are so many game elements baked in. The better we understand these game elements, the better we can engage our communities. As a gamer of over 20 years, I learned a few things about game design. Studying the best education and gamification systems also helped. That is why I want to level the playing field and share what I have learned so we can all leverage game elements to engage our communities. This is what I covered on the call, and you can get out of the video below: - Game Designs of Skool and how you can copy them for your own community - Deep dive into the level system and how you can motivate your members to level up - Rewards that create a stronger sense of community without destroying intrinsic motivations My goal is to make the calls more interactive, so I am including quizzes and some 1:1 speed networking. It is the best way to get to know the members of this community. Add the call to your calendar. Until then, I want to know: How are you using gamification in your community?

Networking Challenge: He who fights with monsters 🚀
Networking works at every level. Every conversation has the potential to change our lives. But we can only have so many conversations every week. That's why we created this challenge, to increase the leverage of each connection. By sharing who we connected with, we expand our reach and help each other meet the right people. Here is how it works: 1. Create a post to participate in the challenge. Title: [Your Name] October Networking Challenge Week 1 Body: Reflect on your last week and set an intention for this week. How many calls do you have booked? 2. After you connect with someone, comment your notes. I just connected with ___, who is ahead / beside / behind me. They help NICHE with DREAM OUTCOME. Notes from the call. 3. Bonus objective: He Who Fights with Monsters Each month we are listening to an audiobook. If you resonate with a character in the story, let us know. By understanding who we relate with, we learn more about each other. Each week, I will go over everyone's connection and count them. The top 3 players with the most connections will get a special merch item. 🏆 The top 10 players on the 30-day leaderboard will get the audiobook for next month. 🎁 The challenge ends on the 31st of October. Are you ready to take your networking to the next level?

Are you treating life as a game?
Video games are fun to play. But as you get older, the number of responsibilities rises. There is not that much time for gaming. Your 9-5 job / business takes that much time of your day. What I have found to channel my interest in gaming is to treat my life (and my work) as a video game. Here are the ways that helped me to treat life as a game and might be useful to you as well: 1. Time-blocking activities in a calendar. Not only work but also fun activities. It is fun to watch a calendar filled with activities. You can even make them sound interesting. (For example: Slaying the dragon: create video for my youtube channel). 2. Having a to-do list app. It is similar to completing quests in a video game. 3. Setting clear goals. Achieving your goals is like beating a boss in a video game. 4. Enjoying the Storyline. Embrace life’s ups and downs as part of an epic narrative, finding meaning in the journey like a game plot. Not everything worked out as you wanted? At least you have a good story to tell now. 5. Treating your failures in life as gaining experience. By analyzing what went wrong and making conclusions, you are able to improve yourself. Did you spend time on creating video for Youtube but not that many views? Do not worry, you are working on your sword (your skills) to create best video ever (slay the dragon). What about you? Do you have your ways of treating life as a video game?
