To be clear headed with reasonable attainable goals for the day and to be calm in my mind and body through sunlight, light physical activity, green space, real food, hydration, and non screen social interactions.

No Judgement Here....
Have you ever noticed notice tiny details other people miss or don't even care about BUT it soooo obvious to you? What's the weirdest thing you've ever spotted that nobody else noticed? Or a weird thing you do that people side eye you for? Mine..... I walk into places and if the picture are crooked, I will fix them..doesnt matter where I am ...

Great post! Yeah, no judgment! :-) I have two to share. *First- I'm never looking, but I'm always spotting animals either lost, stray, injured, or worse.... All the other cars, just continuing to drive by.... a turtle crossing a road (headed AWAY from the water source), a gorgeous husky 5 miles from home running on the side of a highway, a bunch of baby mice living under a mailbox, a tiny 4 week old stray flea-infested kitten, an injured baby deer in a yard, and more lost dogs.... I have to stop and do something about it, which always makes me LATE to my destination. *And the second- Again, I'm never looking, but I'm always spotting litter on the ground. People walking right by not even noticing it..... Like a shiny gum wrapper... How do you not see that?! So I always have a small trash bag to pick it up. lol I actually have a co-worker who has this similar "power" and a few years ago, we placed a single Cheetos (you know the bright orange crunchy snack) on the floor in a hallway corner just to see how long it would stay there. OMG, it drove us crazy. It was still there when we returned from Covid shutdown. I guess it's safe to say our building doesn't have any critters.

@Deb Brouwer Not weird at all. I think it might be a sensory overload thing. I certainly have my coffee mug preferences as well. And, I most certainly can't bare to use disposable utensils made from bamboo. It's like nails scraping on a chalkboard to me. lol

The dopamine spiral almost got me yesterday..
I honestly can't remember the last time I had a bad day. But yesterday was the day. It didn't arrive with a bang. It crept in. I wanted to take it easy, do nothing for once, and within an hour the nothing turned into boredom. Out of that boredom I started snacking on stuff I knew would make me feel worse, and it did, almost instantly. Then I picked up my phone and started scrolling. Ten minutes in I was completely dopamine-depleted. Empty. Like someone had quietly unplugged me. So I did what I tell other people not to do. I reached for more of the same. I opened a video game. The last time I did that was December 2024. More than a year and a half ago. I didn't realize that until I was already sitting there like a zombie, not even enjoying it. Funny how the brain reaches for the exact habit it used to lean on when it's hurting. While I was sitting there feeling nothing, I looked at the community. It's been growing like crazy. Yesterday we hit number 9 in Discovery across the entire Skool platform!! I looked at the number and felt nothing. And for a split second i even thought, why am i even doing this? What's the point? Rationally I knew that was nonsense. I knew it in the moment. But knowing something does absolutely nothing for the way you feel when you're in it. You can be self-aware and still stuck. Awareness alone doesn't pull you out. So I stood up. I walked to the window and just stared outside for a while. I was thinking of two options. One was easy: crawl into bed, pull the curtains, and let the day get worse. Sink deeper into it. The other one I couldn't even see the end of. It just meant doing one thing, any thing. 2024 me would've picked option 1, but.. I just looked for the smallest possible action and DID IT. I walked over to my bed and grabbed my Eight Sleep, the mattress that regulates my temperature at night so I actually get deep sleep. Amazing thing by the way, even if it's stupidly expensive. Next to it was the filter. It had been sitting on my nightstand for three months. I kept walking past it, telling myself it was a whole job, that I'd get to it later. I finally swapped it. It took ten seconds. Ten seconds. And it gave me this tiny, real hit of dopamine.

@Sd Brown everyone works at their own pace so give yourself grace… I haven’t been able to take full advantage of the AI piece either but just listening to the video lessons have been very useful and eye opening for me. I hope you can find something useful for you here too. ADHD is not easy to manage day in and day out. In this community, we all understand that. ā˜€ļø
MY ADHD Snapshot...WOW!!
Just finished the first section of my ADHD Snapshot and realized the thing I always called selfishness or being unreliable is actually a wall between what I want to do and what I can make myself do. I also caught myself writing a letter of self love to my younger self, when the person who needs to hear it is the woman I am right now. It was definatly an eye opening experience. I can already tell this is going to change my life completly. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this!!! ā¤ļø
