Wet 15 miles...
On Saturday, 1 mile into my 15 mile run it started pouring. It dumped - out of nowhere - for the next 2 miles. Then a rainbow. Great start to the run! But for those doing the math, that's a half marathon in wet socks and underwear. Not ideal. But on the plus side, I was much cooler during the run. And ran the 15 miles in under 2 hours, so just under 8 min miles. Happy with that for today. No blisters - somehow - so thankful for socks that wick well. And minimal chafing - not sure how - but I'm thankful all the same. I wasn't prepared for the rain, but now that I've run a half marathon in wet socks and underwear, I feel like I'm ready for anything come race day!

Speed work
Anyone working on speed work as part of their marathon training? I haven't focused on it much so far, but I did run a 5:55 mile this morning - 21 seconds faster than 3 months ago - which probably means marathon training is hard at work! I will be running much slower for my marathon pace, of course, but this encourages me mentally that I may be able to stick to a pace. Any wins in training this week? Keep up the great work!

11 miles today
Kept the pace under 8 min/mile for 11 miles so I'm pleased for today! Also didn't get lost like last Saturday so that's a win... How is everyone's training going? Any updates, stories, wins, pivots this week? Keep up the great work!

Setbacks and Steps Ahead
Ran nearly 14 miles on trails on Saturday after getting lost... Got bit by chiggers or some other tick-like bugs in the high trail grass that have kept me awake for 2 nights... But. Signed up for the marathon. 10 weeks away. One week, one day at a time.
