I advertise free work often! Not only does it provide a low stress creative option, but if it goes very well the marketing I get in return is great. Think about it. Your client will recommend you over and over (they feel like they owe you). They'll talk about how much they love the content and how it portrayed their shop in a positive manner. Finally, its Proof. Proof you can do it, proof you deliver, and proof that it makes sense to book you. Now you don't have deliver promises that "you'll do a good job." When you speak to a new prospective client in that space, you have the ability to say "Yes! I've worked with restaurants before and have had great results.
