Zoho is missing obvious things that should be there out of the box while at the same time giving you multiple ways to fully customize your CRM to do anything. There are two ends of the spectrum with business software (CRMs ERPs etc…). On one end is the lego kit. You will only get the exact pieces that make a single thing with step by step instructions. This is easy to use, but extremely limited in its capabilities. It will certainly be missing things that you need! Oftentimes these types of software are unusable because they miss a component that is critical to your operations. Even though it covers 90% of what you need, that last 10% is mandatory. It’s like a perfectly functioning car except that it’s missing the right front tire. And unfortunately, there is no way to install a right front tire. Now the car is totally useless. On the other end, you are handed every building material and tool you could imagine, but no instructions. There are 100 different ways to do everything. Unfortunately, most of those ways are wrong, and you only find the right way through tedious trial and error. This is more like a car showing up in a box. It’s completely unassembled and you have to figure out how to put it together. The box includes all the pieces you will need, along with a ton of pieces you will not need. It has pieces to make a truck, a bus, a race car or a minivan. It comes with 32 different right front tires. There is not an issue of not being able to install the tire. The issue is that 29 of those 32 will cause issues with the rest of the car, but you will have to figure that out on your own. Good luck!! This end of the spectrum is where Zoho is. I have implemented and customized Zoho across a ton of different industries and I have already figured out a lot of the wrong ways. More importantly, I have figured out a lot of the right ways too!!
