I built a brand toolkit that runs inside Claude Code (and you can try it first)
I've been frustrated with brand tools for a while. You know the drill: sign up for some SaaS, answer 20 generic questions, get output that could describe literally any business. "We're an innovative, cutting-edge solution that empowers users." Cool, so is everyone else. So I built something different. Brand Toolkit is a Claude Code plugin that walks you through real brand strategy using actual expert frameworks: - Positioning using April Dunford's 5-component framework (the same one she uses with Fortune 500 clients) - Messaging using Donald Miller's StoryBrand BrandScript - Voice using Nielsen Norman Group's 4 dimensions + brand archetypes - Visual identity using Chris Do's Stylescapes methodology - Brand audit that scans your actual codebase and website for what you already have The key difference: everything connects through a single "brand brief" file that skills read from and write to. So your positioning informs your messaging, your messaging informs your voice, and nothing exists in a vacuum. It also has built-in anti-slop checks. If your positioning statement could work for both a lawn care company and a SaaS, it flags it and makes you get more specific. No more generic AI output. How it works: You install the plugin, run /brand-toolkit:start, and it figures out where you are. New idea with nothing? It starts you at positioning. Existing business with scattered assets? It audits what you have first. It adapts to how much you already know instead of forcing everyone through the same 50-question wizard. Why I'm sharing here first: This is v0.1. I'm about to run it on my own site (jpgerton.com, which is hilariously misaligned with what I actually do now). Before I polish it up, I want real feedback from people who would actually use it. If you're a Claude Code user with a project that needs brand work, you're the perfect tester. To install: claude plugin add jgerton/brand-toolkit Then run /brand-toolkit:start in any project.
