Sunday Funday - Writers Edition
Let’s have a little nostalgic fun! So, when I was a kid I loved those story-starter games where someone begins a story with one sentence and everyone else takes turns adding to it. They always ended up somewhere wild. Let’s try it here—no rules, no pressure, just imagination. I’ll start! “I opened the door and immediately knew nothing would ever be the same.” Your turn! 🤩📝✍️👩🏻‍💻👨‍💻✏️🖊️✒️

Welcome to Writing with LDLC!
Hi everyone, my name is Lorena. I am the author of the dramatic novel Emily. I’ve been in love with storytelling since third grade, when my teacher projected a picture of a carnival on the wall and asked us to describe it. Oh, where my imagination went! It was the funnest thing I had ever done, and I was hooked for life. In fourth grade, my teacher read to us every day; Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Bunnicula, Superfudge, Ramona Quimby, and my life was forever changed. From that point on, I’ve read and written almost every single day. Along the way I’ve even self-published poetry and short stories, always chasing new ways to share my mind and soul. This community is for expressing through every genre; drama, romance, sci-fi, poetry, mystery, whatever sparks our creativity. We’ll explore writing prompts, craft tips, and general storytelling together. I’d love to meet my fellow creatives: • Introduce yourself: What genres excite you to write or read? • Try our first exercise and share your response as a comment. Exercise – Memory Spark Write a paragraph describing a real moment of powerful emotion; joy, fear, heartbreak, awe. Focus on sensory details: smell, sound, touch, taste, sight. Example Start: “The moment I opened the letter, the air smelled of strawberries and, yes, gummy bears …”
