When We Are Apart ( A Poem)

Just a quick poetry share. I am in a long distance relationship, me in the UK, him in Germany. It is HARD! This was written at a time when my emotions were off the scale. The only thing that grounded me was his arms, his heartbeat, his presence. So the poem literally is an outpouring of feeling, rather than a well thought out or well constructed poem.

When we are apart

I am a riotous mess of emotions,

Love crashing against a distant shore,

Lust exploding from the depths of my being,

Rage erupting with volcanic passion,

An oceanic sob of despair.

When we are apart

I am a riotous mess of emotions,

Until you take me in your arms

And whisper your love in my ear.
