Raise your hand if the thought of sharing your draft for peer review makes you a little nervous. I know that feeling well.
I recently had that exact feeling when I submitted my chapter for a collaborative book. But the feedback I got was truly incredible. It wasn't just a few grammar fixes—it was thoughtful, honest, and made my chapter infinitely better. I actually feel like a better writer for it!
It was a reminder that writing doesn't have to be a solitary journey. The collaborative book writing process has enriched my own writing so much. It’s been an opportunity to grow, learn from others, and now my words will make a bigger impact as part of a collective voice.
If you’ve been on the fence about sharing your voice, I can’t recommend contributing to a collaborative book enough. Seeing your words on the page and getting published with a team is an amazing feeling.
What has been your most valuable experience with peer review, or what’s one thing you hope to gain from sharing your work with others?
