The Biggest Mistake I See People Making in Pro Wrestling (When It Comes to Money)
Wrestling is full of passion. We train hard, take bumps, cut promos, and put on shows that light up crowds… but here’s the hard truth:
The biggest mistake I see wrestlers (and even promoters, refs, managers) make with money is treating wrestling like it’s just about the ring, not the business.
They’ll grind for bookings, spend cash on gear, travel for pennies, and pop huge when their name’s on a poster… but they never stop to think: How am I actually making this sustainable?
  • No merch table set up.
  • No plan to monetize their skills outside of matches.
  • No saving or reinvesting into their career.
  • Relying only on “the next booking” instead of building streams of income.
The truth? Wrestling isn’t just about the performance — it’s about the brand, the business, and the long game. If you don’t figure out the money side, you’ll burn out fast.
Your Turn: What’s one lesson (good or bad) you’ve learned about money in wrestling? If you could go back and tell your rookie self ONE financial tip, what would it be?
