Guidelines for Song Share (READ THIS FIRST)
Sharing your song can be scary, so I always say, BE BRAVE AND UNAFRAID!! One of my favorite quotes is from Elisabeth Elliott -- “Sometimes when we are called to obey, the fear does not subside and we are expected to move against the fear. One must choose to do it afraid.” You're here because you have songs to share, so DO IT AFRAID!! We're here to receive and give feedback. So here are some guidelines: ▶️ Post at least a verse and chorus OR if it's a hymn, at least 2 complete verses. 🎧 Include an mp3 AND type out your lyrics in the post. 😃 Feedback should ALWAYS begin with something that you like OR an encouragement for the person who posted. It's scary enough to put your song out there, so start by building up your friends with genuine encouragement. 🪴 We're here to GROW so suggestions for improvement are not an insult to your song or your writing! 👓 Make comments that will help the person see what they aren't seeing. AND when you RECEIVE feedback, thank the person and seek to humbly put it into practice if it's helpful. 🎉 Most of all, HAVE FUN!

Beneath the Cross
Here's a quick first draft of a communion song or song of confession. Sorry to mess up the end of the chorus...guess I'm not sure how it should go. Does it need a bridge? I think I've stolen the melody...?? All help gratefully received! V1] Near to the cross of our Savior We bring our burdens of shame; All that is broken and wanting We lay before him, again. V2] Baring our deep imperfections Here, where Perfection was killed, Pardon and love without limits Flow through the blood that he spilled. House of God/We Are Living Stones (lyrics for feedback)
Started working on a text based on 1 Peter 2 (+Ephesians 2) after getting a sermon topic/passage in advance, but discovering that there aren't a whole lot of songs on this theme. Is the train of thought coherent? All help appreciated! We are living stones In the Maker's hands, All are precious in his sight, Each a miracle Of his (dazzling/lavish) love, Called from darkness into light. As he breathes in us, As he builds us up, We become his holy home, Standing firm and strong/fast On the solid/living Rock: Jesus Christ, the/our Cornerstone. (CH) We are the house of God, The (holy) house of God, His Spirit lives in us, And moves through us, May our lives display His amazing/unmeasured (wondrous) grace As a holy house of God. Let this temple ring With the ancient song (melody) Of his gift for humankind: Every debt was paid, Our foundation laid, When our Savior gave his life.
