👷🏻‍♂️🥇Leadership Check-In
Quick question for the group 👇 Have you ever stepped up as a leader at your workplace—even if it wasn’t in your job title? Maybe you: - Trained a new hire - Took charge when things got chaotic - Helped solve a problem everyone else avoided - Set the tone when morale was low That’s leadership. Here’s the key difference: 👉 A manager is given authority by a title. 👉 A leader earns influence through actions. Managers: - Assign tasks - Enforce rules - Focus on output Leaders: - Build people - Take responsibility - Create trust and direction You don’t need a supervisor badge to be a leader. Some of the strongest leaders come from the field, the shop floor, or the crew—not the office. Let’s talk ⬇️ - Have you shown leadership at work? - What did it look like? - Or have you worked under a leader vs. just a manager? Drop your experience below 👇 This is how working hands turn into leading hands. 💪
👷🏻‍♂️🥇Leadership Check-In
Do You Know What type of Leader You Are?
According to Kurt Lewin, most leaders fall into one of these four styles: 1️⃣ Autocratic – You make decisions quickly and give clear direction. 2️⃣ Democratic – You involve the team and value input. 3️⃣ Laissez-Faire – You trust the team to work independently. 4️⃣ Situational – You adapt your style based on the people and the situation. 👉 There’s no “best” style—only the right one for the moment. Which one are you most of the time? Drop the number below ⬇️

👋 Welcome to Working Hands to Leading Hands I’m glad you’re here. This community was created for construction workers and tradespeople who take pride in their work but know they’re capable of more than just getting through the day. If you’re here, you might be: - Thinking about moving into leadership - Wanting better pay or stability - Feeling stuck but unsure what the next step is - Or just looking to learn from others who understand the work This isn’t about pretending the job is easy or chasing shortcuts. It’s about growth, respect for the craft, and building a better future one step at a time. 👉 Introduce yourself below Tell us: • What trade you’re in • How long you’ve been doing it • What you want to improve or learn next I’ll start first. I’ve been an electrician for 20 years and recently earned a certificate in construction management. I’m now working toward a degree and focusing on making the move into a construction management role. Everyone starts somewhere. Let’s build this together.
Construction work gloves
Gloves. So most companies i think are starting to go with leather impact gloves and for small tasks like little 1/2 nuts and other things they are too bulky. I was at a site and they have some gloves that are tight fitting like mechanical gloves and they have impact on the top so its kinda like the best of both. I think more companies should start getting some of those.
