They Learned It Somewhere
We spend a lot of time talking about what’s wrong with today’s athletes.
They’re entitled.They don’t listen.They lack accountability.They quit too easily.
But where did they learn those behaviors?
Kids don’t do what we tell them. They do what they see.
If coaches gossip, trainers attack each other online, directors point fingers, and adults refuse to take accountability, we shouldn’t be surprised when young athletes do the same.
Leadership isn’t what we preach.Leadership is what we model.
Before we blame the next generation, we need to take a hard look at the example we’re setting.
Question:What’s one character trait adults in youth sports need to model better?
