I'm not Scared
I want to be vulnerable again
Used, exposed, misunderstood
To cry
Beg for attention
To be a baby
Rather than pride.
I want to live again
To wrestle uncertainties
Trouble
To scratch my head
Mud in my face, knuckles.
Rather than being dead.
I want to love again
Kiss and hug like a teenager
Tears
Heartaches
Insecurities
Rather than hatred.
I want to try again
Work and toil like a slave
Unpaid wages
Sore muscles
Smelly armpits
Rather than sleep all day.
I want to be a father again
A burden not appreciated
The midnight cries
Dry dad jokes
To be reminded it’s never enough.
Rather than an empty house.
I want to be a Christian again
Fasting, prayers, and arguing with God
The devil to fight me
Temptations
The burden of my cross
Rather than mistrust God.
