The nerves are kicking in 😩🙈
As you all probably know by now, I’m hosting my very first LinkedIn Live tonight…..I’m excited….. I’m grateful…. I’m looking forward to it….. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t absolutely bricking it right now 🤣🙈 One thing I’ve been really trying to work on lately is pushing myself outside my comfort zone. If you’d told me a couple of months ago that I’d be hosting live events and willingly putting myself in front of a camera, I’d have laughed you out of the room…..possibly lashed a egg or 2 too 🤣🙈. I know once it starts I’ll be absolutely fine. It’s never the doing that gets me… it’s the build up beforehand. My brain spends hours inventing all the different ways things could go wrong when realistically all I have to do is turn up and have a conversation 😩 Tonight I’ll be chatting with one of my old university friends about his career in cyber security. We’ve done prep sessions, we’ve got a tech team running the live, everything is organised and ready to go. So really my only job is to show up, be myself and try not to fall apart before we go live 🤣 Wish me luck everyone….. and if you’ve ever pushed yourself to do something that terrified you, tell me what it was….Misery loves company 🤣🙏✨🌍….. If anyone wants to watch the live it will be on the Remobi LinkedIn page & 7pm!!
We need your help deciding something exciting… ✨❤️
Happy Saturday lovely humans ❤️ I’ve got exciting to share…. As most of you know, our gorgeous @Sian Kelly Guy very kindly sorted guest list tickets for the RAISE Summit in Paris for some of us. Well she went even further and got some people from my new company on too ✨not only that, she also took time out of her VERY busy schedule to jump on a call with us, talk us through the event, answer our questions and help us make the most of the opportunity.…..Thank you Sian, you really are amazing ❤️✨🙏🌍 Well… the company were so impressed by the support, kindness and generosity shown by this community that they want to give something back….. They’ve offered to sponsor an event for the Women in Tech Power Network… and the best bit is we can choose what it looks like! So @Sue Black and I had a chat last night and decided the best people to make that decision are the people it’s actually for… all of you. What would you love to see? A workshop?…. A hackathon?….. A social event?….. Something completely different? There are no bad ideas at this stage. If someone is willing to invest in our community, let’s make sure we create something that benefits the women in it 🙏✨🌍❤️…… if you could choose absolutely anything, what would it be? 👀
How are you all?
Can somebody explain to me why it's only Tuesday? 🤣... I'm absolutely running on fumes over here. My stomach is still doing whatever weird little protest it's been doing for the last week or so, I'm shattered, and I've realised the reason I'm shattered is because I didn't actually stop all weekend.... Not even a little bit. 🙈 It was mine and Finn's first payday weekend since I started my new job, so we made the most of it. We were out and about all weekend, spending time together, eating nice food, doing fun stuff and living our best lives.... The only problem is Monday arrived and my body was like "excuse me, when exactly was the resting part?" 😂 I've also been busy getting ready for something that is both super exciting and terrifying... tomorrow night I'm delivering my very first masterclass on Prompt Engineering!!! I've spent the last few days building slides, tweaking slides, changing slides, deciding the slides were rubbish, changing them again, then deciding the original slides were actually fine all along. If you've ever made a presentation you'll understand the chaos. 🤣 I am nervous, but I'm excited too.... if I'm going to stand in front of people and attempt to teach something, I can't think of a better group to do it with than all of you. 💫❤️ As I type this I've got a roast dinner cooking, my washing basket is giving me judgemental looks from across the room, my work day is winding down and I'm still fiddling with slides..... while trying to write this and tell Finn to come off YouTube and crack on with some revision!!!! Anyway, enough about my chaos... What did everyone get up to at the weekend? Any adventures? Any wins? Any exciting news? Any other parents also wondering how tf we're already in June?!.... I want all the updates ❤️💫
What silly lies did you get told as a kid?
Today’s topic is: the outrageous lies we were told as kids 🤣🙈 Finn has just reminded me that when he was little I used to tell him if he swallowed apple seeds a whole tree would grow in his tummy 🤣🙈It’s now made me remember the amount of absolute crap adults used to tell us with FULL confidence??? Like… if you put the inside car light on while driving the police would arrest us immediately….if you crossed your eyes for too long they’d stay like that forever…… if you swallowed chewing gum it would wrap around your heart 🤣🙈…. Were we all raised on fear and misinformation, or was that just my family? 🤣🙈 the maddest part is we fully believed it all as well???….. If it wasn’t just my family, please tell me the funniest lie you got told as a kid, surly I can’t be the only one 🤣
