This post covers 90% of what you need to know about IBKR.
What I’m share with you are the core essentials, so you can save time and keep your system simple and lean.
- How to set up an option trades:
In the default "Mosaic" interface, go to "New window" -> "option Chain" (see pic 1 &2)
Make sure "strategy builder" is turned on when you set up your trade. (see pic 3)
2.Make sure you review every details of your trade carefully before you hit "submit" button, includng whether it's a put or call, the number of contracts, the expiry date, the premium you selected, etc. Slow down and double check.
3.After you submit the order, you’ll find it under the Orders tab, normally at the bottom left side (see pic 1). There you can clearly see whether it has been filled. Normally if it can be filled, it would be filled immediately, If it hasn’t, you can adjust the premium slightly — for example, lower it by one cent — to help get it filled.
4.How to see my Trade History: Go to "Classic TWS" at the bottom, then click Trade History at the top (see pic 4).
A new window will open showing your trade history for up to the past 7 days (see pic 5).
If you need records beyond that, you’ll have to log in to the IBKR website and download the performance report there.
