The equinox arrives, that rare moment when day and night are held in perfect balance. We so often lean into extremes—working too hard, pushing too far, neglecting the quiet places. But nature reminds us that the cycle always returns us to center, and balance is what allows the whole to endure. Mabon is the second of the three harvests. Where Lughnasadh begins the reaping, Mabon is the shift—when the orchards are heavy, the grain is stored, and we begin the work of preserving what we’ve gathered to carry us through the winter months ahead. It is a time of gratitude, yes, but also of preparation. We pause to honor the fullness of the land and to ready ourselves for the winding down of the year. To celebrate, bring the season to your altar: apples, grapes, gourds, wheat sheaves, candles in gold and deep red. Share a meal, pour a libation to the earth, or sit in stillness with the balance of light and dark. Reflect on what you are gathering, and on what you are willing to release, so that you can meet the dark months with grace. My blessing for you this Mabon: may your stores be full, your heart steady, and your steps guided by the rhythm of balance. May this turning bring peace and preparation, and remind you that endings are only another shape of beginning. And tonight on my live, I’ll be working the Harvest of Protection spell—a working of safeguarding and blessing for you or for those you hold dear. I’ll also be offering a three-card reading to reveal the dangers one faces, the promise of the gods, and the harvest waiting to be claimed. Together they weave protection, insight, and blessing for the dark half of the year. 🍎 Equinox blessings to you. 🍎
