Great Community Leaders: The Only 4 Ways To Get Traffic On Skool
Jason Flamm dropped an incredibly insightful new YouTube video to help you grow your Skool
He says "I think the biggest mistake most people make is they chase tactics without really committing to a specific strategy that could actually move the needle for them."
This video will help you fix that.
Enjoy!

The big idea:
All traffic strategies fall into four buckets.
Every tactic is just a variation inside one of them.
When people stall, it’s usually because they bounce between tactics instead of committing to one bucket long enough for it to compound.
1️⃣ Organic Content
Purpose: Long-term trust + visibility
Speed: Slow
Cost: Free
Pain: Patience
  • You must have organic content if you want a long-term Skool business.
  • It builds trust, familiarity, and perceived authority.
  • People usually need ~7 hours of exposure before they buy.
  • This is not about going viral. It’s about consistency over time.
  • Works best if you accept slower growth and play the long game.
Key truth:
Organic content builds warm traffic.
Warm traffic converts better later, even if growth is slow now.
2️⃣ Paid Ads
Purpose: Speed
Speed: Fast
Cost: Money + skill
Pain: Churn + wasted spend if done poorly
  • Paid ads buy targeting and timing.
  • AI-driven platforms are very good at finding the right people.
  • This is the fastest way to grow member count.
  • Requires budget, testing, and skill (or hiring someone who has it).
  • Often leads to higher churn if messaging or offer is unclear.
Key truth:
Paid ads amplify what already works.
They don’t fix weak positioning or unclear value.
3️⃣ Partnerships & Word of Mouth
Purpose: High-quality members
Speed: Medium (with spikes)
Cost: Time + relationships
Pain: Slow setup
  • One strong partnership can bring dozens or hundreds of members.
  • Trust transfers from the partner to you.
  • Works best with adjacent audiences, not competitors.
  • Often involves affiliate splits or shared value.
  • Growth comes in waves, not a straight line.
Key truth:
This traffic converts well because trust is preloaded.
4️⃣ Activities (Direct Action)
Purpose: Early momentum + quality members
Speed: Slow to medium
Cost: Free
Pain: Manual effort
Includes:
  • Personal invites
  • DMs
  • Email or text outreach
  • Speaking at live events
  • Answering questions on Skool (especially Skoolers)
Important notes:
  • No pitching.
  • Lead with real help.
  • Let curiosity pull people to your profile.
Key truth:
Most communities fail simply because the owner never invites anyone.
🪣 The Bucket Rule (This Is the Part Most People Miss)
You should eventually use all four buckets
You can only focus on one at a time.
  • Shallow buckets leak.
  • Jason recommends committing to one bucket per 90 days.
  • Fill it well, then move to the next.
Here's the thing
You’re not choosing the “best” bucket.
You’re choosing the pain you’re willing to tolerate.
There is no pain free path
🔍 How to Choose Which Bucket First
Ask yourself:
  1. How much time per week is actually available?
  2. How much money can be invested right now?
  3. Is there already an audience outside Skool?
  4. How fast does revenue need to show up?
If:
  • Time is low → focus on one channel deeply
  • Money is low → avoid ads, lean into activities
  • Revenue is urgent → monetizable niches matter more
  • Growth can be slow → organic + activities compound
💰 Monetization Reality Check
The easiest niches to monetize:
  • Health
  • Wealth
  • Relationships
  • Injury recovery
Other niches can work, just with longer runways.
🧠 Core Takeaway
There is no pain-free path.
The only guaranteed failure is quitting.
Pick one bucket.
Commit for 90 days.
Fill then move on.
The only way to fail is to quit.
Keep growing!
