I recommend everyone getting down payments on jobs over $1000, we charge 50% up front to book these jobs
Yesterday we closed a $2250 job for Thursday, we will start first thing, but in order to book them we require 50% down, which is a great way to insure they’re a proper customer that wants to pay the price to have the job done
You can try 30-50% down payments but for us we simply order 50%, it just works for us
But you always need to get some sort of upfront payment to book a large job in my opinion, this way you are partially protected in the case of an inlaying customer which won’t happen often, so long as you do what you say you’re going to do & get the job done professionally & correctly.
