Easy skill building idea - power drill
Here is an example of an activity that all 3 of my daughters loved.
Take a drill, use a scrap piece of wood and set various screws of different lengths and bit heads.
Teach the kids how to use the drill, change the bits and understand drill angle and pressure needed to set the screws.
Get them to put them in and back them out.
Once that is mastered, get them to put the screws in without setting them into the wood for them.
What started out as a mondai task turned into something the kids have asked to repeat and now they are “not be afraid” of the power tools as they getting a better understanding of how they work and what what they can do with them.
