What do you want to know?
I started my watersports charter business in 2019 while still in college. I was lucky enough to have a mentor in the fishing charter space which was just enough to help me get an idea of what I was doing (although still clueless). I started the business by myself & my 20 year old Mastercraft boat which is still in the fleet to this day. I taught waterskiing, wakesurfing, kneeboarding, drove lots of tube rides and even sent the boat out for long term rentals. In my second year the business took off the the point where I realized I could make a living and escape having to get a real job out of college. Bought another boat, hired my best friends and kept growing the business from there. Even lived in a camper near the lake for a couple years (great times). At this point I have 2 watersports boats and 2 pontoon boats. I run watersports charters, kids watersports camp, pontoon boat charters & long term boat rentals with a seasonal staff of around 6 employees. Ive been kicked out of locations, ripped off by marketing companies, had to fire employees, sunk boats, lost money some years & made solid money others. Its always a challenge but I am blessed to own this type of business & am extremely grateful for the amount of freedom it has given me, particularly in the offseason due to the seasonality of it. I started making a few YouTube videos and connecting with others who were on a similar journey. I have really enjoyed helping others start their businesses and keep in touch over the course of time making friends in the same industry. If I can help one person make it out of a shitty job and make a living doing something they love I take that as a win. Feel free to share where you are at and let me know your goals!
