The Power of Presence
Today, I drove from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas and experienced something simple but unexpectedly meaningful.
I watched 4:00 PM happen twice — first in St. George (MST), then again an hour later in Mesquite (PST).
Somewhere between the time zones, I stopped at Starbucks to journal.
And the Japanese phrase ichigo ichie came to mind.
One time, one meeting.
Treasure each moment as if it will never happen again.
Even though the clock repeated itself, the moment didn’t.
The scenery was the same, but I wasn’t. My thoughts weren’t. My awareness wasn’t.
It reminded me that life gives us countless hours…
but only a few moments where we’re fully present inside them.
That’s where health shifts.
That’s where stress softens.
That’s where alignment begins.
Today, I’m grateful for a cup of coffee, an open road, and a reminder that every encounter — with a person, a place, or a version of yourself — is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Ichigo ichie. One moment. One meeting.
Make it count.
