Credit Check Monday. 📊🌊
Quick truth most people never hear: the score on your banking app isn't always the score a lender sees.
That free score you check every week? It's usually a Vantage Score. But mortgage lenders often pull FICO Score 2, 4, or 5. Auto lenders use their own auto-specific FICO models. Even card issuers can pull different bureau versions depending on who they work with.
Same credit history. Different math. Sometimes a 40–50 point gap between what you see and what they see.
This is why someone can feel "ready" based on an app score, then get an approval or rate that doesn't match what they expected.
Here's the move: don't just track a number. Track the habits that move every version of your score in the same direction: on-time payments, low balances, aged accounts.
Question for you 👇
Has your "app score" ever been different from what a lender actually used? What happened?
