Our Foundation
Wanderwise isn't just another travel community. We're a sisterhood of women who've put our dreams on hold and are finally ready to reclaim them.
Whether you're navigating divorce, empty nesting, or simply ready to choose yourself after years of putting everyone else first, you're in the right place.
These core values shape who we are and how we show up for each other:
🌍 Our Core Values
We Are Brave (Not Fearless)
We don't pretend travel is easy or that fear doesn't exist. We acknowledge the scary parts - whether it's eating alone on a solo trip, coordinating schedules with travel buddies, or navigating a new city with your partner. But we do it anyway. Bravery isn't the absence of fear; it's booking the ticket despite it whether its a solo trip, with friends, or with someone special.
We Are Supportive (Always)
No question is too basic. No fear is too small. No dream is too big. Whether you're planning your first solo dinner or your tenth international trip, you have a community behind you cheering you on, answering honestly, and celebrating every win.
We Are Authentic (Messy & Real)
We share the Instagram-worthy moments AND the times we got lost, cried in our hotel room, or almost canceled the whole trip. Real stories. Real struggles. Real triumphs. That's how we learn and grow together.
We Reclaim Joy
For too long, we put our happiness last. Not anymore. We celebrate curiosity, spontaneity, and the pure joy of discovering we're capable of more than we thought. Travel isn't selfish, it's essential.
💛 Our Community Guidelines
These guidelines ensure Wanderwise remains a safe, judgment-free space where every woman feels seen, supported, and empowered.
1. No Judgment. Period.
We have members who:
- Are taking their first solo trip at 55 (or 65, or 75)
- Have never left their home country
- Are terrified of flying
- Don't know how to book a hotel online
- Feel guilty for "abandoning" their kids (who are grown adults)
- Are navigating fresh divorces and raw emotions
Your starting point doesn't matter. Your pace doesn't matter. You belong here.
Every question is welcome. Every fear is valid. Every dream is worth pursuing.
2. Vulnerability is Strength
This community works because we're honest about the hard parts:
- The loneliness of eating dinner alone the first time
- The judgment from family who "don't understand why you need to travel alone"
- The fear that you're "too old" or "too late"
- The grief of realizing how long you've put yourself last
When you share your struggles, you give someone else permission to do the same. That's how we heal and grow together.
3. Celebrate Every Win (Especially the "Small" Ones)
Booked your first solo trip? HUGE.
Ate dinner alone without checking your phone? CELEBRATE IT.
Told your ex you're going to Greece? YOU DID THAT.
Asked for help planning? THAT TOOK COURAGE.
We don't gate keep what counts as a "real" accomplishment. Progress is progress. Share your wins, we want to cheer for you.
4. Give Support That Empowers
When responding to others, ask yourself: "Will this help her feel braver and more capable?"
Your feedback should be:
✅ Honest (but kind)
✅ Practical (actionable steps)
✅ Encouraging (she can do this)
✅ Respectful (of her pace and comfort level)
Avoid:
❌ "Just do it" without context
❌ Comparing her journey to yours
❌ Making her feel "less than" for being scared
❌ Pushing her faster than she's ready for
5. Respect Different Paths
Some of us want to backpack Southeast Asia. Others want a guided tour of Italy. Some will travel solo forever. Others are building confidence for one big trip.
All paths are valid. This isn't about becoming a "digital nomad" or proving anything to anyone. It's about YOU defining what adventure means and going after it.
6. Respect Different Paths
Some of us crave solo adventures. Others want to find travel buddies in this community. Some are building confidence to travel with a new partner. Others are planning girls' trips with lifelong friends.
All paths are valid.
- Solo travel? We'll help you build confidence for that first dinner alone.
- Want a travel buddy? We'll help you connect with members heading to the same destination.
- Traveling with a partner? We'll share tips for maintaining your independence while exploring together.
- Planning a group trip? We'll help you coordinate and make it happen.
This isn't about proving you can "do it alone" - it's about YOU defining what adventure means and going after it, however that looks for you.
7. Protect This Space
This community is NOT for:
❌ Selling your travel MLM, coaching program, or products (unless explicitly invited by moderators)
❌ Negativity, drama, or tearing others down
❌ Political debates or divisive topics unrelated to travel
❌ Unsolicited advice about people's personal lives (divorce, parenting, etc.)
Keep the focus on: Travel planning, confidence-building, shared experiences, and supporting each other's journeys.
🌎 Our Mission
To help women who've spent decades putting everyone else first finally choose themselves, one trip at a time.
We provide the practical tools, emotional support, and community connection needed to turn "I could never" into "I just did."
💛 A Final Welcome
You didn't end up here by accident.
Maybe you're freshly divorced and don't know who you are anymore. Maybe your kids just left for college and the house feels too quiet. Maybe you're just tired of waiting for "someday."
Whatever brought you here, welcome!
This community is yours, a place to ask questions without judgment, share fears without shame, and celebrate wins without apology.
Your best adventures aren't behind you. They're waiting for you to claim them.
Let's do this together. ✈️
