Biblical Principles Recovery
As a recovering addict, I have tried many different approaches to getting and staying sober. All of them never worked. Until I learned to walk it out with Jesus Christ based recovery. John 8:36: "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (KJV) - Focuses on the true freedom and breaking chains of bondage. 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - Offers hope for a new life, leaving behind past failures. Philippians 4:13: "I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." - Highlights finding strength in Christ to overcome addiction and struggles. Matthew 11:28-29: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Provides solace to those exhausted by the weight of addiction. Galatians 5:1: "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." - Encourages maintaining freedom and avoiding relapse. 1 Corinthians 10:13: "...God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear." - Focuses on finding a way out of temptation. Psalm 34:17-18: "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles." - Emphasizes God's presence during brokenness and emotional pain. 2 Peter 1:5–7: Focuses on strengthening character, resisting temptations, and replacing old habits with godly ones.
