The Wali Start Up or Beginner course focuses on the essential rudimentary aspects of Djembe and Doundoun folklore, offering a step-by-step approach to mastering the foundational rhythms and techniques of West African drumming. This course is perfect for complete beginners and those looking to revisit and strengthen their understanding of Djembe and Doundoun.

In this online course, students are offered one class per week… and will be required to submit a film presentation at the completion of each rhythm to demonstrate their growth and progress, while also receiving teacher comments and instructional feedback for the purpose of improving technique.

10-WEEK Online journey for practitioners who are seeking to further develop their djembe vocabulary and fluency. DESIGNED FOR DRUMMERS With preferably 5-7 years of djembe experience, that hve a good understanding of tone, slap, and bass. LEARN TRADITIONAL RYTHMS Solos, techniques, and the history of the music within cultural context. • Blend spiritual connection, storytelling, and performance building skills.

10 Week VIP Online Journey This program is for serious djembe players who want deeper guidance and personal instruction. Designed for drummers with about 5 to 7 years of experience and a strong base. Students will study traditional rhythms, solos, techniques, and cultural context while expanding fluency and expression. The VIP program includes additional djembe exercises, more direct instruction, and bi weekly 1 hour Zoom meetings with Wali for feedback, questions, and deeper learning.

The Wali Doundounba course is an 8 week journey for practitioners who are seeking to further develop a deep understanding for the doundounba family of rhythms. designed for drummers with a basic understanding of the family of rhythm. We start from the ground up and build as we go. Ensuring that you leave with a greater undersrtanding of not only the time, but the essence of Doundounba.
