What do I mean by that? You have a studio or designated art space in your home. You have all kinds of paint, canvases, paper, easels, art journal books, ephemeria, and a plethora of art supplies everywhere in your studio or art space. You always have several art projects underway. Your finished canvases hang on your walls. Your finished paper pieces are either framed and hung or safely guarded in a portfolio or laying flat in drawers. You create every day or almost everyday (we do take days off here and there), whether a short period of time to add the next layer or several hours to start a background, add shades and light and focal points or on occasion all day or deep into the night to paint an entire piece because your so in to it. You not only enter exhibits, you go to exhibits and art museums. You have a lot of art books on various artists. You are absolutely 100% ok to stay in your studio painting rather than run outside because the sun is out, driving all around town cause you can't stand being alone at home or shopping and buying all kinds of useless things you never wear or put somewhere as if it shows who you are. You have paint on some of your clothes which you don't mind cuz eventually it is likely all of your clothes will get a spot on it. You get paint on your hands often cuz you just love to use them when you create. You love wearing your studio apron and putting it on is like a ritual to Creation. You smile a LOT because of the great music you listen to and dance to while you're painting. You'd rather be painting than watching TV. You find yourself (and others) standing in the middle of your studio, silently turning to see every wall and inch of space filled with ... creativity and color. You feel expressed. You feel in touch with yourself. You know who you are. You feel that you are right where you are supposed to be. You now. That's what I mean. Anyone else?
