🧭 Why Character Beats Skills Every Time When Building Your Virtual Assistant Team
Ok, so today I want to go over something that took me way too long to figure out. When you're hiring virtual assistants, character and personality matter infinitely more than the resume. I'm telling you, this is the single biggest shift you can make in how you hire and lead a remote team.
I'm writing this because most entrepreneurs are stuck in a trap. They're looking for hacks. The perfect motivational speech. The clever Slack template. The communication trick that finally gets their VA to "step up." It's all surface level stuff. And it doesn't work.
The reason it doesn't work is simple. You can't fake your way into a great team. You can't use slick management techniques to paper over a weak relationship. Your VA will see right through it. And eventually you'll have churn, low output, and a constant feeling that no one cares about the business as much as you do.
Today I want to walk through why character is the foundation, why skills are actually the easy part, and the specific things you can do to build a team that's loyal, proactive, and genuinely cares.
