If I had to get a client this week with ZERO audience… I wouldn’t sit around waiting for people to find me.
I’d get proactive.
Because honestly?
Relying only on social media to bring you clients is slow… and honestly, unpredictable.
Here’s what I’d actually do instead:
Step 1: Pick ONE simple service you can offer right now
Not a whole list.
Not “I can do everything.”
Just one clear thing.
Step 2: Make it specific enough that someone instantly gets it
Not: “I’m a VA”
But: “I help you stay on top of your inbox so you don’t miss leads or important messages.”
Clear = trustworthy.
Step 3: Go where people are already looking for help
This is the part most people skip.
- job boards (like Indeed)
- Facebook groups
- people already asking for help
Don’t wait to be found… put yourself in the path.
Step 4: Be willing to get scrappy at the start
Small jobs.
Trial work.
Getting referrals.
You’re building momentum, not perfection.
Step 5: Keep showing people what you can do
Through content, conversations, or direct outreach.
This isn’t about being everywhere…It’s about being intentional.
This is what I believe when it comes to getting clients:
You don’t wait. You don’t hope.
You don’t just post and pray.
You get in the room.
You start conversations.
You show people what you can do.
That’s how this actually starts to work.
If you want to be more proactive about getting clients instead of sitting back and hoping they come to you… I go deeper into this inside my Get Clients + Get Paid Classroom 🤎 It’s where I break this down into simple, real-life steps you can actually follow.
