Okay… can we have a real moment about working from home for a second?
Because I feel like this gets romanticized A LOT.
“Ugh, you’re so lucky you get to work from home.”And I’m like… yes… AND also… it’s not what people think. Especially if you’re a mom.
You’ve got kids, schedules, errands, meals, laundry, life coming at you from every direction… and somewhere in there you’re trying to build an income?? From your laptop?? In your house?? Where everything else exists??
It’s a different kind of hard.
Not “show up, do your shift, get paid” hard. Its “you are fully responsible for making money, managing your time, finding clients, doing the work, and staying focused when your brain is like… let’s reorganize the pantry instead” hard.
And here’s the part no one really says out loud:
👉 Not everyone thrives working from home.
Because it takes a level of discipline, structure, and mental shifts that most people were never taught.
You’re not just learning how to be a VA…You’re learning how to think like someone who works for themselves.
That means:
– Creating boundaries in your own home
– Learning when you’re “at work” vs “just existing in your house”
– Staying focused when distractions are literally everywhere
– Showing up even when no one is telling you to
And honestly… that shift alone is one of the biggest hurdles I see.
It sounds simple. Its not.
But it IS learnable.
And once it clicks? Everything changes.
I’ve had to figure out what works for me (and my life, my kids, my chaos), and I’ve built a way of structuring my days, my boundaries, and my workflow that actually supports me instead of burning me out.
And I want to start pulling back the curtain on that more đź‘€
Like… real “day in the life” stuff.
How I actually structure my time.
How I handle distractions.
How I keep clients happy AND still have a life.
