I've been running an AI agency for the past five months — selling AI receptionists, outbound follow-up systems, websites, chatbots, CRMs, and pipelines. I have one client paying $1,500 upfront with a $150/month retainer, but the business model has been tough to scale. The biggest friction points are outreach, meeting no-shows, and closing — not the actual building. I had solely focused on that for 5 months and didn't see much results. Still doing it but..

The core issue is that my old model was heavily location-dependent and relied on cold calling, which created a serious bottleneck. As a high schooler getting home at 5 PM, I couldn't cold call during business hours, and my show rates were around 15% — so even when I did book meetings, most people didn't show up.

I enjoy the development side a lot more than sales, and I want to find a monetization path I can run entirely behind a computer — where outreach is less of a wall and more of a system. I'm okay with putting in serious time and work, I just need a model where the bottleneck isn't cold outreach.

My goal is $10K MRR. I'm curious what products are typically sold in a more dev-focused AI business, what realistic timelines look like to hit that number (10k MRR) , and how outreach works in models that don't rely on cold calling or google meetings. Just an overview of how you guys are actually getting clients, average ticket price for these products, payment structures, timelines to hit 10k MRR, and most importantly the skills that are learned through it.
