USA Youth Return from Pam-American Championships in Bolivia
Steven Wimmer 15 (North Carolina) and Neallie Gillis-Pade 16 (California) represented the USA at the Youth Pan American Modern Pentathlon Championships in Santa Cruz Bolivia this past weekend.
They participated in the U17 individual events and the mixed relay.
Conditions were tough with 95 degrees, strong sun, and high humidity but what a great learning experience for these two young athletes to meet and compete with athletes from Bolivia, Guatemala, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Canada, Panama, Ecuador, and Peru.
Key highlights included Steven having the 3rd fastest obstacle time in the U17 boys event and Neallie was the top female fencer in the mixed relay event winning 16 of 18 bouts.
We look forward to what's next for Neallie while cheering for Steven as he competes in the USAPM National Championships this weekend.
