Training camp in Pennsylvania
I talked to Maestro Mark Masters yesterday and he can arrange a week-long pentathlon training camp after summer nationals fencing championships in July at Arcadia College in Pennsylvania. We have about 7 kids ranging from ages 12-20 who are interested. Tentatively, the camp would run for 6 hours each day with one hour for each event taught by specialists (fencing, swimming, running, laser pistol, and agility/obstacle course). If you would like more information, please message me.

I have initial numbers for the Arcadia training camp in July. We are looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500-$2000 for a week. Non-participant adults can stay in the dorms for $100/day, which includes dining hall meals. The camp would take place on 7/13-17, 7/20-24, or 7/27-31. If the July sleep away camp doesn't work out, Maestro is planning to add pentathlon elements to the regular fencing training camps scheduled for August.

We are going to move the Arcadia University training camp to July 2027 because the timeline for 2026 is so short. Maestro is planning to add on pentathlon clinics (running, fencing, obstacle course and laser pistol but not swimming) to the fencing training camps scheduled for August 2026. I will post the registration links when they are available.
Fencing coach
Thank you for this introduction to the pentathlon community. My husband and I fenced for Columbia University back in the 1990s, and I am currently working as an apprentice coach at Fencing Academy of Philadelphia. We have three kids who all fence -- the youngest one recently started training for pentathlon.

This is what I had in mind for a subscription coaching model: The biggest time commitment for pentathlon is swimming. I have been working with Olympic coaches to determine distance drills that can help with cross training. There is also a cycle to peak for competitions that starts with endurance and ends with speed. Basically, you would get a monthly set of suggested drills along with Q & A. We can modify the offerings as I acquire more data from competitions. I was also thinking about organizing training camps in Pennsylvania to analyze and improve athlete performance. That is a lot of what I am doing with my thirteen year old.
