Happy Juneteenth ❤️🖤💚
I am not African American, but I am raising African American children, and that has given me an even deeper appreciation for the significance of this day. Truthfully, even if my children were not African American, I would still take time to recognize and honor Juneteenth.
To me, Juneteenth is a day to reflect on history, celebrate freedom, and honor the resilience, strength, and perseverance of those who endured unimaginable hardships while continuing to hope for a better future. It is a reminder of the importance of learning from the past and ensuring that those stories are never forgotten.
Today, I celebrate, I reflect, and I give thanks for those whose courage and determination helped pave the way for future generations. Their sacrifice serves as a powerful reminder that freedom, dignity, and equality are worth protecting and pursuing.
As a mother, I want my children to understand the value of their history, the strength of those who came before them, and the importance of treating every person with respect and compassion.
Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth filled with reflection, education, gratitude, and hope. ❤️🖤💚
