This is where people get into trouble. A tax deed does not automatically mean a clean title. Depending on the state, some liens survive the tax deed sale -- including certain IRS liens, HOA liens, or code enforcement violations. You need to research every parcel before you bid, not after.
Due diligence is not optional. It is the difference between a blessing and a burden.
