These are what my absolute top 3 tips would be…
Tip #1 orient yourself before you try to regulate
A lot of the time when our nervous system gets triggered as if there is a threat near by we will become hyper focused on the threat and lose awareness of our surroundings.
To counteract this hyper aroused focus a great tip is to actually open up you awareness by focusing specifically on your surroundings
This does 2 things first it give you more information about your situation so you can feel safer and more equipped to deal with what is going on
And second it grounds you more into
this reality by taking you into the real world and out of the mind.
Tips #2
When anxiety spikes focus on your breath as best as you possibly can and ideally slow down your breath until it calms to a slower pace than normal. Our breath regulates our nervous system and it is within our control.
We can’t conciously regulate our nervous system but we can consciously regulate our breath.
So if you breath slowly you can watch in real time your nervous system calm down and every successful person will tell you before a big event it’s imperative to breath deeply calmly and conciously if you want to remain composed.
Tip#3 and big one
Remove yourself from whatever situation you’re in. A woman I just heard about came out with a book called your anxiety is giving me anxiety. It’s important to understand we live in a quantum field whereas energy is constantly being transferred between people and often anxiety is nothing more than a product of an unhealthy environment and this is your bodies way of saying you don’t belong here. Listen to it and leave and get back to your own energy and if you must return coming into the circumstances from a centered place will always lead to a better result than going in unprepared unequiped and reactive.
