'The Slip' - behind the scenes.
“The Slip” is a bold, award-winning teen drama series produced by The Underdog Crew CIC, created to resonate deeply with the experiences of young people aged 12-15 in the UK today. Drawing from real-world issues such as mental health, addiction, exclusion and identity, the series boldly steps into territory that many shows for younger teens shy away from. The Heart of the Story At the centre of “The Slip” is fourteen-year-old Macey Caine — a young carer for her mother, who struggles with substance misuse and mental health issues. Macey’s journey is not just about surviving her family circumstances, but about finding a place where she belongs, asserting her own identity and pushing back against a system that often overlooks young carers and marginalised youth. Why It Matters Many dramas aimed at teens treat issues superficially. “The Slip” commits to honesty, compassion and educational value, while remaining age-appropriate. It gives voice to teenagers who are often invisible in mainstream media, especially those dealing with trauma, exclusion or caring responsibilities. “At face value ‘The Slip’ is a forward thinking and relatively daring expose on the troubles and plight of teenagers in modern Britain today.” It addresses a genuine gap. According to BBC Children’s Head of Content, the 12-15 age group is difficult to reach, and there is a need for content that bridges CBBC and more adult-oriented television. Structure & Episodes Season One of the series comprises multiple episodes, each tackling a distinct but interconnected issue. For example: - Episode 1 – Isolation and Marginalisation: We meet Macey in her world, battling caring duties, the breakdown of her family, substance addiction in the home, and the crushing pressure of responsibility. - Episode 2 – Fitting In: Macey enters a new concept youth exclusion centre, where she must navigate trust, inclusion, changing peer groups, and mentorship. - Episode 3 – Peer Pressure: Macey befriends Ellie, who initially seems exciting and free-spirited, but whose path leads to danger and moral compromise. Themes include drug use, boundaries, and the importance of saying “no”.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES - 'Blood Highway' (aka Faith)
Aah, 'Faith' - where our journey into feature films began. Watch over 30 minutes of exclusive, never seen, behind-the-scenes footage from the set. To date, this is still my favourite production experience, where creative solutions came first where money didn't. I'm still proud of this film as testament to everyone saying it couldn't be done for less than £5000 in 9 days. Of course... we smashed it. With true Underdog spirit. The Learning Value of Behind-the-Scenes Documentaries for Film Students: Watching behind-the-scenes documentaries isn’t just entertainment—it’s education in motion. For a film student, these glimpses into the creative process reveal the hidden layers of filmmaking that can’t be captured in lectures or manuals. You see collaboration in real time, the problem-solving that happens under pressure, and the delicate balance between artistry and logistics. By observing directors communicate with actors, cinematographers sculpt light, and editors craft emotion from raw footage, you begin to understand the language of the set—the rhythm, compromise, and creativity required to bring vision to life. Behind-the-scenes content also humanises the industry. It shows that even legendary films are born from trial, error, and teamwork. Every production problem becomes a lesson in adaptability; every creative decision, a study in storytelling. In short: watching the making of films helps students bridge the gap between theory and practice. It’s not just how movies are made—it’s why they work. HOT TIP: Getting good BTS content and production stills is VITAL! It's the window into your movie and social media laps it up. After every good take - "Hold for Stills!". And don't forget to get your portrait mode for INSTA too.
Creativeness wins every time
Hey everyone, fabulous to be part of this creative team 😊

The 'Great Bruxo Burvis' (STRICTLY 16+)
“He faked talking to the dead… until they started talking back.” One washed-up psychic. One ancient curse. After offending a gypsy necromancer during a seaside psychic night, conman clairvoyant, Bruxo Burvis, finds that the afterlife isn’t just real — it’s his new full-time job. Pilot Episode of DB Morgan's risqué comedy series. We have such huge hopes for this project, with Channel 4 taking a sniff of interest. We will be placing this on a festival run in 2026 and refocus on getting Bruxo out into the world. 3-DAY SHOOT. Total resources filmmaking. Pilot episode created for £3500.

My old faithful CANON 60D
DB's early work. At the start of pushing myself into the industry I worked on many small private gigs, eventually settling on running the visual marketing for a few catering companies as a food photography/filmmaking specialist. It's really good to go back and look at your early work to see how you have developed, but to also remind yourself of that raw passion that drove you on. Never get complacent or lose that passion! My takeaway from this reel was my original CANON 60D with a SAMYANG 35mm CINE PRIME - that summer Stock car footage still looks stunning! I had a variable ND filter probably at around 8 stops. The in-car footage I used my daughters 'SONY BLOGGIE' packed in foam rubber as a crud shock mount. That was a great day at Foxhall Stadium in Ipswich.
