Taking a top using humbolt notch
I like humbolt to make the top land flat as opposed to tip first. Also feel make less of a sling shot effect if you cut the hinge complete or almost completely through once the top is already over center of gravity and hinge as directed it in the correct direction. Just my opinion also cut at or near chest level never by the face.
