Dispatch Scenario
Today's dispatcher scenario:
You see that Alabama's Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project is fully funded. A hazmat driver is approaching Mobile, and someone says the new bridge can now be used.
It cannot. ALDOT expects full construction to begin October 1, 2026, and currently projects the new bridge to open in late 2031.
A dispatcher coordinates the carrier's freight, route, appointments, and driver communication. The dispatcher must separate a funding announcement from a current routing change.
Stop, verify today's official truck route and restrictions, calculate the real detour and ETA, and document the source you used.
