Hello all! Welcome to the community. I will be loading up part 2 of the dispatching course going over legal and compliance. Today's dispatcher scenario: You are assigning a diesel-fuel load. A coworker says the new FMCSA waiver gives the driver sixteen hours and removes the normal limits. The driver then reports fatigue. A dispatcher coordinates the carrier's freight, route, appointments, and driver communication. A dispatcher does not decide that every fuel load qualifies or ignore the waiver's conditions. The waiver is effective September 16 through December 16, 2026, for qualifying interstate gasoline and diesel transportation. It includes a 16-driving-hour maximum in any 24-hour period, rest requirements, eligibility rules, a requirement to carry the waiver, and protection for a driver who needs immediate rest.
