Yielding isometrics
I’m looking into adding a yielding isometric training day to my weekly routine.
The idea is to accumulate around 3 minutes of total hold time per exercise, including push-up holds, lunge holds, inverted row holds, and some form of isometric work for the hamstrings and glutes.
My main goals are to improve mobility through loaded stretching, strengthen my tendons, and support long-term joint health and resilience.
I currently do two full-body strength workouts per week (circuit-style) and two intense boxing sessions.
I’m trying to figure out the best way to fit this additional session into my schedule without compromising recovery or performance.
Would it be better to do the isometric workout 8–10 hours before boxing, or immediately after a boxing session?
