I often get push back from those who have legalistic views of scriptures and believe we should never doubt God and should always believe in "Everything Happens for a Reason...It Is All Part of God's Plan and Just Pray About It".
In reality, prayers can go unanswered. People endure horrific events and suffer in constant agony for which there is no fathomable reason for why it happened or how it could possibly be part of God's plan.
Rather than walking with people through the reasons that took them to where they stand, many will leave them feeling judged, alone and even abandoned with their legalist or unrealistic views. This includes churches, pastors and "church people".
Beliefs of releasing burdens by nailing them to the cross, surrendering them to God and being healed by prayer alone, often do not bring a person relief and instead leave them feeling hopeless and as if they are not worthy of God's love.
Here, we discuss very sensitive topics and the reality of questioning God.
