Welcome! My Story + Why I Started This Community
When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I quickly realized how stressful and unpredictable daily life could be. Every low or high blood sugar spike brought worry and fear — and I wanted a way to keep her safe while giving her more independence. That’s why I became passionate about Diabetic Alert Dogs (D.A.D.s). As a professional dog trainer and a mom who truly understands the daily challenges, I created this community to help families train their own dogs to alert to dangerous blood sugar changes — and to build confident, reliable dogs in the process. 💡 Here’s how to get started: 1️⃣ Introduce yourself — your name, your dog’s name, and what you’re working on. 2️⃣ Explore the Diabetic Alert Dog section for step-by-step training guidance 3️⃣ Ask questions, share wins, and connect with others who understand your journey. This community is about more than training — it’s about support, connection, and peace of mind. Every dog has potential, and every family deserves confidence.
