Warriors of Knowledge
This week we're writing songs to show our UNIQUENESS, just like Cece from El Deafo. If you come up with your own song and would like to share, PLEASE DO!!!! Here's one of our friends' amazing song! Vinny's Octonauts Chorus: I’m one of a kind, that’s true, Shining bright in all I do! Different beats, different view, I’m unique—and proud like you! Verse: I am one of a kind., a good friend and I can my family, my community, I care about play games., play soccer—I choose kindness. My superpower is play games., play soccer, won’t lose, I stand tall; I’m me—I choose! (Repeat Chorus)
CAMP TIME! - (FREE PROJECTS TO DO OVER SUMMER)
Our camp is in full swing, but we would LOVE for some of our other friends to do the projects with us. Check out some of our upcoming projects and feel free to do as many as you'd like. Once you've done one, please share so we can see what you came up with!!! Have fun and happy exploring! Dragon Week Create a DRAGON vision board. Imagine you could create your own dragon. What type of power would they have? What would they look like? Now draw them out. Next, we're going to create our own vision boards with our own goals and powers we'd like to have! This can be anything from being a super reader to learning a new skill. Wonderful Wings Week Projects Butterfly Wings Ready to fly? Recycle cardboard into butterfly wings. An easy way to start is to take a cereal box, open it up, and trace a wing outline on the inside of the box. Cut along the lines, and then decorate the cardboard. - Cardboard - Scissors - Paint - Glue - Elastic Build a Bird Feeder Assemble recycled materials to make a bird feeder for the birds in your neighborhood. There are lots of options and styles to choose from. Our friends at Super Simple made a bird feeder out of a milk carton. Others have made bird feeders out of orange peels! - Juice/milk carton - Scissors - Hole punch - Straw/small wooden dowel - String - Paint - Paint brushes/stamps - Glue Stick - Foam shapes - Bird seeds Fly a Kite or Build a Tiddlycopter Fly into the weekend with the wind in your wings by playing with things that fly. Start simply by folding and flying paper airplanes. Experiment further with the Tiddlycopter craft by Moshi Kids. Don’t stop there. What about a paper bag parachute or a paper plate frisbee? Better yet, dig out an old kite from the toy box and revive it at the park. - A4 paper - Scissors - 2 wooden dowels or sticks - Tape - String - Markers/colored pencils - Tissue paper/newspaper
