Tomasi Masima: Builder Tips 👷♂️ To estimate timber for a 6.0 × 2.4 wall with two 1.2 × 1.5 windows in 90×45, add all lineal metres first. Plates are 18 m. Full studs at 600 centres give 11 studs = 26.4 m. Jack studs for two windows add 9.6 m. Lintels and sills are 2.4 m each. One row of nogs adds 6 m. Total is 64.8 m. Divide by 5.4 m lengths = 12 lengths. Add extra for waste and cuts. Order 14 lengths of 90×45×5.4 m to be safe. This method works for any wall: count plates, studs, openings, nogs, total it, divide by length, then allow for waste.
