Men, it’s football weekend… so let’s have a different kind of conversation.
We’re going to spend a lot of time this weekend watching men compete—fighting for yards, defending their teammates, overcoming adversity, dealing with pressure, and trying to win.
But it got me thinking…
What does it look like for us as men to compete in life while following Christ?
A football player can’t wait until the game starts to decide what kind of player he’s going to be. The preparation happens when nobody is watching.
Same thing with us.
Our character is built in the quiet moments.
Our faith is built before the pressure comes.
Our families see who we really are when the “game” gets hard.
So here’s the question for the group:
If someone watched the way you lived this week—your decisions, your words, your marriage, your fatherhood, your work, your finances, your private life—what would they say you’re competing for?
🏆 Success?
💰Money?
👨👩👧👦Your family?
🙏God’s Kingdom?
🔥Something else?
And maybe the harder question:
Are you training spiritually with the same intentionality that you expect from yourself professionally or physically?
Drop your thoughts below. No judgment. Let’s actually talk.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
Enjoy the games this weekend, brothers. But remember—the most important game we’re playing isn’t happening on a field. It’s happening in the way we live when nobody is watching.
