I was raised by a wonderful Mother. As such, I thought I was well prepared to tackle the different stages of my kids’ growing up. The teenage years brought new situations that I could never have predicted. From losing our way, hidden hurts, broken hearts, and hopeless feelings; I spent a lot of time on my knees, praying for the right way to handle each of my different teenagers’ personalities and situations.
I researched. I talked to professionals. I talked to friends. I talked to family. I spent countless hours talking with the best experts I know (including my own Mom)
From all of the hurt, the work, the tears, the glimmers of hope, the breakdowns, and the victories, we found seven steps that any parent can utilize to help rebuild and grow their connection with their teenager.
