Day 6: found someone who started where I am and pulled it off.
I reached out to and asked him what's the first thing he did to get a client for his SEO Agency. I also asked if he had a lot of capital to play with. He said he didn't have a lot of capital when he first started his agency back in 2015 and still managed to pull it off. What they did first: He told me that the way he got his first client was by asking his photographer friend if she knew someone who would exchange pictures for SEO. He needed some professional pictures for marketing material and also needed to prove himself and got a referral.
Chris did a great job at that client's website and then leveraged that success by using it to cold email other photographers.
Lessons I learned from this conversation:
- It doesn't take a huge capital to get clients, it takes building connections and investing time & efforts. If you don't ask, you won't get it.
- Success creates more success. When other photographers see you help businesses similar to them, they are much more likely to show interest.
- When you don't have big money to play with, your best resources are: Time, Efforts, Energy and you can never run out of them.
This provides me with the evidence that it actually works and can be done with what I have now!
